COBALTHARD 6FC
AWS Speicication:AWS A5.13/AME A5.13 ECoCr-A
Jis Specification:NONE
Other Specificvation:NONE
I. APPLICATIONS:
Hard surfacing of valve seats, forging dies, crushers, hammer, edges, cutting knives and blowers.
II. DESCRIPTION :
COBALTHARD 6FC Covered electrode produce a medium hardness cobalt-chromium deposit for high temperature applications with good abrasive wear and good impact resistance. COBALTHARD 6FC is the most versatile and widely used cobalt alloy with a good balance of abrasion and impact resistance. Chromium carbides contained in the deposit, have excellent resistance to many forms of chemical and mechanical degradation, including galling and cavitation erosion. It bonds well with all weldable steels, including stainless.
III. NOTES ON USAGE:
-
Preheat at 300ºC and over in general. Use PHILARC temperature indicating sticks or PHILARC interpass temperature gauge to determine if proper temperature is achieve before welding. For more details see PHILARC Chart 4 Easy Steps for welding.
-
It is effective to postheat at 600ºC and to slow cool after welding to prevent cracking.
-
Dry the electrodes at 150-200ºC for 30 – 60 minutes before use. Use PHILARC portable drying ovens.
