PHILARC BRONZE-A
AWS Specification : AWS A5.6 E CuSn-A
JIS Specification: NONE
Other Specification: NONE
I. APPLICATIONS:
For joining and surfacing of copper-alloys, phosphor and tin bronzes. Deposit is sea water resistant. Current AC or DC+.
II. DESCRIPTION:
Deposit is sea water resistance. Good weldability and arc stability guarantee a porosity-free deposit.
III. NOTES ON USAGE:
-
Preheating and interpass temperature are required.
For phosphor bronze and gun metal 150~200ºC
For brass 250~300ºC
-
Don’t use too much weaving. The bead width should be kept within 3 times of rod diameter.
-
Apply hot peening on every bead because the structure of deposited metal is rough at as welded condition. Hot peening is effective to improvement of mechanical properties.
