PHiLARC - The No. 1 Choice of Welders

PHIL-CAST Fe-25

AWS Specification : AWS EST

JIS Specification : DFC Fe

Other Specification :DIN E FeB2

I. APPLICATIONS:

For repairing of cast iron parts where machining is unnecessary.

II. DESCRIPTION:

PHILCAST Fe-25 is a graphite type electrode using mild steel core rod. Its weld metal shows high carbon content. Then it results high hardness, so it is suitable for welding the parts where machining is unnecessary. Its fusibility with case iron is excellent.

III. NOTES ON USAGE:

The preheat temperatures vary in accordance with kind, shape and size of base metal. Preheating over 200ºC is appropriate to prevent cracking. Slow cooling is recommended after welding.

Typical data and Test results for mechanical properties, deposit or electrode composition and other properties were obtained from a weld produced and tested according to prescribed standards, and should not be assumed to be the expected results in a particular application or weldment. Actual results will vary depending on many factors, including, but not limited to, weld procedure, plate chemistry and temperature, weldment design and fabrication methods. Users are cautioned to confirm by qualification testing, or other appropriate means, the suitability of any welding consumable and procedure before use in the intended application.
