PA-8018-W
AWS Specification: AWS A5.5 E8018-W2
JIS Specification: DA5016G
Other Specification: NONE
I. APPLICATIONS:
Welding of 50kgf/mm2 high tensile strength atmospheric corrosion resisting steels (COR-TEN 50A, B, C) and superior atmospheric corrosion resisting steels (COR-TEN O) for bridges, structures and rolling stock.
II. DESCRIPTIONS:
PA-8018-W is a low hydrogen iron powder type electrode. Deposited metal contains copper, chromium and nickel and shows high resistance to atmospheric corrosion. Excellent crack resistance to atmospheric corrosion. Excellent crack resistance and mechanical properties due to its low hydrogen type coating make it suitable for welding medium and thick plates.
III. NOTES ON USAGE:
-
Dry the electrodes at 350-400°C for about one hour before for 30-60 minutes before use.
-
Adopt back step method or strike the arc on a small steel plate prepared for this particular purpose to prevent blowholes at the arc starting.
-
Keep the arc as short as possible.
