PA-10018G
AWS A5.5 E10018G
DIN 8529 EY 6275 Mn1NiMoB
I. APPLICATIONS:
Welding of structural steel (HT70), pressure vessel (ASTM A225 Gr. C), carbon steel plate for mechanical fabrication (S45C), SAE 1345, etc. It is also used for build-up welding before hardfacing.
II. DESCRIPTIONS:
PA-10018-G is an iron powder low hydrogen type, 690N/mm2 grade high tensile steel electrodes. Excellent crack resistance, good mechanical properties and well bead appearance can be obtained. It is provided with good arc and easy slag removal.
III. NOTES ON USAGE:
-
Dry the electrodes at 350ºC-400ºC for about one hour before use. Store the electrodes at 100-150ºC after drying, keeping them away from moisture.
-
Adopt back step method or strike the arc on a small steel plate prepared for this particular purpose because arc striking on base metal is in danger of initiating cracking.
-
Keep the arc as short as possible.
-
Preheat at 120-180ºC. The temperature to be applied varies in accordance with plate thickness and kind of steel to be welded.
-
Pay attention not to exceed proper heat-input because excessive heat-input causes deterioration of impact values and yield strength of weld metal.
-
Immediate post heating at 150-200ºC after welding is effective to prevent cracking.

TEST RESULT
The information contained or otherwise referenced herein is presented only as “typical” without guarantee or warranty, and Industrial Welding Corporation expressly disclaims any liability incurred from any reliance thereon. Typical data and Test results for mechanical properties, deposit or electrode composition and other properties were obtained from a weld produced and tested according to prescribed standards, and should not be assumed to be the expected results in a particular application or weldment. Actual results will vary depending on many factors, including, but not limited to, weld procedure, plate chemistry and temperature, weldment design and fabrication methods. Users are cautioned to confirm by qualification testing, or other appropriate means, the suitability of any welding consumable and procedure before use in the intended application.
