PHILSTAIN 317L
AWS Specification: AWS A5.4 E317L-16
JIS Specification: JIS D317L-165
Other Specification: NONE
I. APPLICATIONS:
Welding of AlSl317, AlSl317l stainless steel.
II. DESCRIPTION:
PHILSTAIN 317L is a lime-titania type stainless steel electrode which gives an extra low carbon 18%Cr-12%Ni3%Mo austenitic stainless weld metal. As its molybdenum content is higher than that of NSS-316L, its weld metal has excellent resistance to non-oxidizing acid such as dilute sulfuric acid, and is resistant for inter-cystalline corrosion.
III. NOTES ON USAGE:
-
Keep the arc length as short as possible.
-
Dry the electrode at 300 - 350°C for 30 - 60 minutes before use.
-
Clean weld area in order to prevent from decreasing corrosion resistance by blending carbon to weld metal.
