PA-7018LT
SPECIFICATION:
AWS A5.5 E 7018-G
I. APPLICATIONS:
For aluminum-killed steel used at low temperature, LPG tankers and LPG storage tanks, etc.
II. DESCRIPTIONS:
PA-7018LT is an LMA (low moisture absorption) electrode with very good mechanical properties suitable for demanding applications, such as offshore. The weld metal contains approximately 1% Ni for high impact values down to -40°C. The coating is of the latest LMA type for optimum resistance to porosity and hydrogen cracking.
III. NOTES ON USAGE:
-
Dry the electrodes at 300-350°C (572-622°F) for 60 minutes before use.
-
Adopt back step method or strike the arc on a small steel plate prepared for this purpose to prevent blowholes at the arc starting.
-
Pay attention not to exceed proper heat-input because excessive heat-input causes deterioration of impact values of all-weld metal.
